Shockwave Therapy
Extracorporal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) helps pets suffering from arthritis and other painful conditions affecting bones, tendons and muscles. It uses high energy sound waves to stimulate the body's own healing process. The waves travel from the surface of the body into the damaged tissues where they promote the breakdown of scar tissue, decrease pain, and stimulate the formation of new blood vessels, connective tissue and bone.
Therapeutic Laser
Laser therapy is the directing of red and near infrared light over tissue in hopes of improving healing, reducing pain, and reducing bacterial counts. Commonly used to treat wounds, arthritis, pain, trigger points, tendonitis, swelling, lick granulomas, muscle injuries.
Underwater Treadmill
Hydrotherapy or underwater treadmill therapy provides an unique advantage to the rehabilitation program. The resistance of the water increases muscular work as they walk on the treadmill, and can improve gait mechanics by the nature of the water resistance.
Massage / Manual Therapy
Pets as well as people can benefit from massage therapy. Joint mobilizations are used to decrease pain and increase range of motion following injury or surgical recovery. It can also be beneficial for pets with arthritis and any chronic pain condition.
Tailored Exercise Programs
A customized exercise program can increase muscle recovery after injury, improve strength and endurance, and help with balance and coordination.
